Objectives

• Capture detailed aerial imagery of the roof to assess current condition.

• Deliver a 3D navigable model for remote review, markup and collaboration.

• Provide annotated images and a report to assist with maintenance planning and quoting.

• Reduce the need for physical access or working at heights.

Execution

Pre-flight prep was conducted on Google Earth for site inspection and size planning. Open Sky and Oz Runways was used to air space compliance. The on-site flight was controlled mainly by Hammer Missions using a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, capturing hundreds of high-resolution images. Due to surrounding trees on two sides of the building, certain areas required manual piloting to safely position the drone for complete coverage.

Back at the office, Post-processing generated a precise photogrammetry-based 3D model. A final review and reporting session was conducted to identify any obvious issues and provide actionable insights to the client. The client of course used the model to further inspect and markup any concerns.
